A book published with support from Wakefields, Blue Star Print Group and Spicers Paper gained success at this year’s Montana New Zealand Book Awards.

The book, 'A Nest Of Singing Birds:100 years of the New Zealand School Journal' won the award’s reference and anthology category. Written by Gregory O’Brien, and published in 2007 by Learning Media in partnership with the ministry of education, the book celebrates the centenary of the New Zealand School Journal.

Gillian Candler, chief executive of Learning Media, gave credit to the journal’s agelessness. She said, “It is believed to be the longest running serial publication for children in the world.”

Wakefields, Blue Star Print Group and Spicers Paper, are the long standing pre-press, print and paper suppliers respectively of the New Zealand School Journal, acknowledged as one of the most influential literary and educational publications in our history.

Darren Comrie, general manager of Format, a division of Blue Star Print Group, expressed pride in Learning Medias achievement and congratulated al involved on an outstanding result. Mark Sorenson from Spicers Paper agreed and said, “This win further solidifies our commitment to Format and Learning Media and a great result celebrated by all.”
